Turtleneck and Layers

Tis’ the season to...wear turtlenecks and layers.

With the “Brr” months coming to an end, I decided to abuse the season by courageously wearing layers that contrast the weather of a tropical country. But hey, it’s not every day you could wear an ensemble like this in the sweltering heat of the Philippines.

But first things first: Belated Mery Christmas, Everyone! Last December 25, I thought I could make a blog post to cap off the amazing day but I had to attend a lot of family parties and time was not on my side. Even so, our family Christmas party was a blast—the best one so far, to be exact. Because aside from the gifts and the food, it was the first time after many years that my family was complete on Christmas Eve (for those of you who don’t know, my brother finally came back from Europe)

I realized that I reached a certain point in my “adulting” life that a Christmas “gift” is not something that comes in the form of a swanky shoe box, a plane ticket, or even boxes of expensive chocolates. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have these things as presents, but I guess you could say that it’s the intangible things that really complete the holiday spirit.

When I was a kid, I always wanted to have all these flashy things like toys and gadgets, but as the years passed, I realized that time with your family, sharing their smiles, and exchanging your energy with them is something monetary things cannot provide. It’s those moments when time seemingly slows down as you get a glorious glimpse of your family, merry and cheerful on Christmas Eve, are what make the holidays priceless.

Anyway! here's what I wore in a certain event at Marco Polo:

Turtleneck: H&M | Cardigan: H&M | Pants: H&M | Shoes: Milanos | Eyewear: SimpleMNL

Oh! and to cap off the season, I’m blessed to say that this Christmas, our family was finally extended as Arnie and her folks decided to spend Christmas with us. Christmas truly came to our doorstep—and I do hope it also came to yours.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
